It’s the time of year when I end up spending more and more evenings on a beach somewhere around the city. Seattle is a place where you can watch the colors change on the sides of the skyscrapers downtown from Gas Works or you can drive 5 miles and watch the sun go down behind the mountains of Olympic National Park from Golden Gardens. Last Sunday, I took way too many photos with my phone of a beautiful sunset there that could never be as good on a phone screen as it was in reality.
But sunny weather is only around for part of the year here, and we’re lucky that Seattle looks just as good in the fall as it does in the summer. Lots of rain makes for lots of colorful trees once summer is over. Golden Gardens is quieter in the fall, but just as great.
Allison & Matt got married on a rainy day in October at the Bathhouse at Golden Gardens. I brought along some clear umbrellas for them so we could get out before the ceremony to get some portraits done. Allison’s style is such a great mix of vintage and cozy nature vibes and it worked so well on this gray moody day. Their ceremony was a blast, with heartfelt vows and inside jokes and a Rainier cheers at the end. Watching Allison & Matt dance at the ceremony was the sweetest thing. You can see it in how they look at each other that what they have is pretty special.
