When I met Lindsay earlier this year, I knew right away that we were a match made in gold-pinterest-board heaven. I would say that probably half of our conversation was about her wedding and half was about the amazingness that is the color gold. And of course, there was some overlap, since obviously gold had to be a part of her wedding. At our final meeting before the big day, she confessed she was concerned that she might have overdone it with the gilding. I told her that wasn’t possible.
Lindsay + Mike got married in the backyard of Linday’s childhood home, where her father had built this amazing little cottage that they held their ceremony in front of. These are some of my favorite photos of the year, which is kind of surprising considering the furthest we ventured out of the backyard was about 5 feet.
Mike is Jewish, so there were some awesome Jewish traditions involved, including the breaking of the glass at the end of the ceremony and the Hora chair dance during the reception. As you might be able to tell from the pictures, this was Lindsay’s first rodeo. She was a good sport.
Peaceful Belly blew us all away with their amazing floral/vegetable arrangements. The Basque Market never fails to impress with their delicious Paella and other basque goodies. Lindsay and Mike are musicians, so they had Amelie-style accordion music during the ceremony. So awesome!
They also made their own ice cream sandwiches in lieu of a cake, which was genius and damn delicious. I wanted to steal them all, but was worried they might melt all over my car. Remember, this was back when it was hot outside. As I’m writing this, I’m all bundled up in multiple sweaters and a scarf!
I loved this wedding and I love these people and they love each other. And gold.
